Just wondering what the means, exactly.

I think CISSP certification requires an endorsement from an existing CISSP. which raises the question, how did the first guy ever get certified? :)

you can also get your employer to verify that you've been
performing security tasks for at least three years, but i've only
been with my employer for just a year.
