I have been using irc rooms as a help resource to get things I don't understand explained to me. Nice friendly places like Freenode server room #debian, if you have ever been there, you can understand the sarcasim in this text! I have gotten much help, but not a lot of newby friendly places. As a response to this, I have made a room called #oklinux on Freenode server. All are welcome to come online and ask or be asked. Mostly debian is used by the few regulars who hang out, but maybe we can help out the less fortunate rpm based users out there. After all, linux is linux and it is not what package management you have, but how the packages work. Some day I hope to make it back to the linuxsig meetings. Nice new site.

When I get my new box I am probably going to set up UnrealIRCD or HybridIRCd and you can have the channel one there if you want

Thank you, but I don't see an advantage of having a private irc channel vs Freenod which is listed. Of course I could be ignorant :) what advantage would this be?
